Ways to Search
Start typing in the search box at the top of Talent Search, and FactoryFix adapts to how you searched:
- Not sure of the exact keywords? Describe the role in plain English, like maintenance technician near Cincinnati.
- Want precise control? Use keywords and Boolean — `AND`, `OR`, `NOT`, and `"quoted phrases"`.
- Already have a role in mind? Search straight from one of your jobs, and FactoryFix matches the talent pool against it.
A chip shows how FactoryFix read your search; click it to switch. Before you've run anything, the box also shows your Recent searches and a few examples.
Filters
Refine results with Location, Distance, and Last active. A plain-English search fills these in for you — inferred filters show a sparkle icon, and a filter you set yourself always wins. (Other details, like pay or shift, help describe the role but aren't applied as filters.) Changes take effect when you click Search or press Enter.
Reviewing and Contacting Candidates
- Results appear as candidate preview cards with highlights of their experience and skills.
- Click Unlock to view a candidate's full profile and contact information.
When you unlock a candidate, FactoryFix refreshes their contact and profile details in the background — no extra click or cost. A chip on the card shows whether something changed (Updated just now), was already up to date (Verified just now), or nothing new was found (Checked just now).
- From there, view their resume or Add to job.
- When you click Add to job, select the target job. For active jobs, you’ll see a Start AI outreach option in the modal:
- If left ON (default for active jobs), your AI recruiter will start outreach automatically. The candidate will appear in the 'Outreach' stage.
- If turned OFF, you can type and send a manual message. The candidate will appear in the 'New' stage.
Let your AI recruiter take over (optional)
- Available for active jobs only. For inactive jobs, the AI option is disabled and you can send a manual message; the candidate goes to 'New'.
- Honors messaging windows. If it’s outside configured hours, the first AI message is queued and will send at the next allowed time.
- Respects candidate opt-outs and avoids duplicate outreach if the candidate was already contacted for that job.
- Your company’s sourcing settings may restrict this option. If disabled, hover the info icon to learn why.
When you start AI outreach for selected candidates, FactoryFix flags anyone who already has recent activity with your company — a prior outreach or application, including ones you rejected or hired. You'll see a note like "[Candidate name] has recent activity with your company," with a View conversation link where one exists and a way to exclude flagged candidates. It's a reminder, not a block — you can always continue.
Generate a Job Match Report
From the candidates you've selected, you can generate a candidate-first Job Match Report — FactoryFix finds direct employers near a candidate that are hiring for roles that fit, so you can market and place that person. Available with FactoryFix Gold.

Skip Candidates You've Already Considered
When you run a lot of searches, the same people tend to show up again and again — including ones you've already looked at and ruled out for the role. Skipping clears those candidates out of your way, so each new search surfaces fresh prospects instead of faces you've already considered.
Every search splits results into Matches and Skipped tabs. Click Skip on a card to move someone into Skipped; skips are per-recruiter and follow the candidate across your future searches. Changed your mind? Open the Skipped tab and click Restore to bring them back. Skipping only filters your view — candidates stay in the talent pool, and your AI recruiter can still reach them for your active jobs.
Save a Search
To keep a search for later, set up your query and filters, then bookmark the page URL — it updates automatically to match your search, and opening the bookmark (while logged in) reloads it.
