Teach your AI recruiter how to evaluate candidates

To get the most accurate 1-5 star ratings and assessments, you need to teach your AI recruiter what matters most for each role. By providing specific criteria, you transform your AI recruiter from a generalist into a specialist that understands the unique needs of your job.

This is done during the job posting and editing process.

1. Define Required Skills and Technologies

Be specific. This helps your AI recruiter look for concrete evidence in a candidate's profile.

  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Select from a list of predefined skills or add your own. The AI recruiter will suggest relevant skills based on your job title.
  • Machines & Technologies: Specify the exact equipment, software, or brands a candidate needs experience with. This is crucial for technical roles.

2. Describe Your Ideal Candidate (Crucial Step)

Go beyond the basic job description. In the optional "Help your AI recruiter understand your ideal candidate" section, you can provide nuanced instructions:

  • How strictly should your AI recruiter evaluate candidates? Choose between "Lenient," "Balanced," or "Strict" to control the qualification bar.
  • What separates an okay candidate from a great one? Explain the key differentiators you look for. (e.g., "A great candidate has experience with preventative maintenance schedules, not just reactive repairs.")
  • What makes you willing to overlook other shortcomings? Tell your AI recruiter about high-value skills that can compensate for other gaps. (e.g., "A Journeyman Electrician license outweighs a lack of experience with a specific PLC brand.")
  • What would make you immediately reject a candidate? Define your non-negotiable dealbreakers. (e.g., "Unwillingness to work weekends," or "No experience in a food-grade environment.")

Filling out ideal candidate preferences to guide the AI recruiter

Your AI recruiter uses this information directly in its evaluation process, allowing it to think more like you and deliver assessments that are highly aligned with what you're truly looking for in a candidate.
