Posting a job on FactoryFix means putting a dedicated AI recruiter to work for you 24/7. This guide will walk you through creating a job and giving your AI recruiter the right instructions to find, screen, and deliver qualified candidates.
Step 1: Start a New Job
From your FactoryFix dashboard, click the Manage Jobs tab, then click the purple + New job button.
Step 2: Post Your Job Details
Fill out the essential information about the role. Be specific, as your AI recruiter uses these details for targeting and evaluation.
- Job Title, Location, Pay, Hire Type, and Shift.
- Location: For a non-remote job, City, State, and Zip are required, but the street address is optional. City, state, and zip are what drive where your job is shown, how it's distributed, and how it's matched to candidates by location, so leaving the street address blank doesn't affect any of that. This is handy when you'd rather not publish an exact address — for example, a staffing firm posting on behalf of an end client.
- Job Description: Go beyond a generic list of duties. The more detail you provide about required skills (e.g., "experience with Fanuc controls" vs. "CNC experience"), the better your AI recruiter can perform.
- Skills: Add relevant skill tags to improve matching. If a skill or piece of equipment isn't in the built-in list, type it in and choose the Add ... option that appears to save it to this job — see Step 4a below for details.
A note on shift selection
Beyond the standard shifts (1st, 2nd, 3rd, Short-term / Project), two options deserve a closer look:- Multiple shifts means the role spans more than one shift. Your AI recruiter will ask candidates about their preference.
- No shift specified means shift is not relevant or not yet decided. Your AI recruiter skips the question and no shift appears on the posting.
ATS-synced jobs default to "No shift specified" unless your ATS provides shift data.
Step 3: Select Your AI Recruiter
Choose which AI recruiter from your team will handle this job. You can select the default Copilot or any custom AI recruiter you've created. The settings from your selected recruiter will automatically populate the next steps, saving you time.
Step 4: Customize Your AI Recruiter's Strategy for This Job
This is where you give your AI recruiter its marching orders for this specific role. You can use the defaults from your selected AI recruiter or override them.
a. Teach your AI recruiter how to evaluate candidates
- Define what makes an ideal candidate, what you're willing to overlook, and what your absolute dealbreakers are.
- When you set the skills that matter for the role, the knowledge disciplines and machines fields aren't limited to FactoryFix's built-in list. If the exact term you need is missing, type it in and choose the Add ... option that appears to save your own skill to this job. Custom skills are used everywhere built-in ones are. They're saved to this job only, not added to the global list or shared with other employers.

b. Align on your AI recruiter's sourcing strategy
- Choose between sourcing Active Job Seekers + Passive Candidates (recommended) or Active Job Seekers only.
- Decide if your AI recruiter should Optimize visibility on job boards (recommended) or keep the original posting.

c. Set your AI recruiter's interview style
- Choose between "Interview and dig deeper" (recommended), where your AI recruiter has natural, adaptive conversations, or "Stick to set questions."
- If you choose "Interview and dig deeper," you can click + Add your own questions (optional) to provide must-cover topics. The AI will try to integrate these naturally into its conversation.
- You can also customize the AI recruiter's name, tone, persistence, and messaging hours for this job.

Step 5: Activate Your Job
Once you're satisfied with the setup, click Activate job. Your AI recruiter is now live and will immediately begin:
- Searching the FactoryFix talent pool for passive candidates (if enabled).
- Distributing your job across relevant job boards and social media — plus targeted partner networks where skilled candidates spend their time.
- Screening and evaluating every applicant to deliver qualified, interested candidates directly to your pipeline.
You can also click Save & Exit to save the job as a draft and activate it later.
